Audiences that were hoping to see Star Wars and Marvel movies taken to new heights might just get their wish. Via The Hollywood Reporter, Walt Disney Studios has a “multi-year agreement” with Secret Cinema to create immersive experiences with their films.
Secret Cinema is a movie screening series that fuses together live music, art, theater, and dance to create “elaborate authentic worlds.” You check out examples on Secret Cinema’s official site, including Dirty Dancing and Netflix’s Stranger Things.
“Working with The Walt Disney Studios is much more than access to a treasure trove of titles, it’s about bringing together a unique combination of skills and expertise to build ever more authentic and amazing experiences, raising the bar again for what we mean by ‘immersive cinema,’” said Secret Cinema CEO Max Alexander in a statement.

Secret Cinema will work closely with Disney’s StudioLAB, a company that focuses on tech-focused storytelling. The team hasn’t revealed which of Disney’s iconic films would be part of the Secret Cinema experience. However, a promo image, seen above, suggests that the Star Wars films are a strong possibility.
The first show will premiere in London later this year. Experiences in the United States will follow later on, including stops in New York and Los Angeles. From there, it will see further “global expansion.”
