Paramount’s Snake Eyes Spinoff Has Wrapped Production

After more than four months, filming has wrapped on Paramount’s upcoming reboot of the G.I. Joe franchise. Henry Golding took to Instagram to share that the Snake Eyes solo film has completed principal photography. Additionally, he posted an image of a rather minuscule clapperboard from the movie’s set. You can check it out for yourself below.

Snake Eyes began shooting in Vancouver back in October. Eventually, the production moved over to Japan at the beginning of the year, possibly to film crucial scenes that show Snake Eyes’ ninja training. The film will presumably depict Snake Eyes’ origin story. That includes his friendship with Storm Shadow, which ultimately turned into a bitter rivalry.

Earlier this month, Golding shared another image of himself in character, ascending a stone staircase leading to a temple on the movie’s Japanese set. In the pic, he was unmasked and also dressed in traditional ninja garb. However, now that filming is done, perhaps it’s only a matter of time before Paramount releases an official still of Golding wearing Snake Eyes’ famous costume.

In addition to Golding’s protagonist, the spinoff will also feature a handful of fan favorite G.I. Joe characters. The supporting cast includes Andrew Koji as Storm Shadow, Samara Weaving as Scarlett, and Úrsula Corberó as Baroness. Robert Schwentke directed the film from a script written by Evan Spiliotopoulos.

Snake Eyes will open in theaters on October 23.
