New Venom TV Spots Reveal a Terrible Friendship

Sony Renames the Venom Sequel, and Pushes It Back To 2021

Earlier this week, Warner Bros. pushed The Batman out of its June 2021 release date. Now, Sony is moving its Venom sequel from its October 2 release date to take over the June 25, 2021 date formerly held by Matt Reeves’ Batman reboot.

Via Variety, Venom 2 has also gotten a brand new name. The sequel will now be called Venom: Let There Be Carnage. That’s an obvious reference to Woody Harrelson Cletus Kasady (aka Carnage), who was introduced in Venom‘s mid-credits scene.

Tom Hardy will also reprise his role as Eddie Brock/Venom in the sequel. Additionally, Michelle Williams will reprise her role as Anne Weying, Eddie’s ex-fiancée.
