Sony Shares the Official Venom: Let There Be Carnage Logo

Earlier today, Sony finally revealed that the upcoming Venom sequel will be titled Venom: Let There Be Carnage. The film’s delay to 2021 probably comes as a big disappointment to fans of the original film eager for more symbiote-on-symbiote action. But now, Sony is hoping to ease the burn with the first look at the sequel’s logo. You can check it out for yourself below.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage began production in November with Andy Serkis replacing Ruben Fleischer in the director’s chair. The film’s title also reconfirmed what we already knew. Woody Harrelson will be back as Cletus Kasady to menace Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock.

In the meantime, the response to the sequel’s title appears to be mixed among moviegoers. The reactions range from hyperbolic endorsements to outright dismissals. Others are disappointed that the filmmakers didn’t borrow from the comics and use Maximum Carnage as the subtitle. But of course, a movie’s name has no bearing on its actual quality, and the rest of us will wait to see a trailer before passing any kind of judgment.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage will hit theaters on June 25, 2021.
