New Wonder Woman 1984 Poster Showcases Diana’s Lasso of Truth

Diana will be sporting some new gear when Wonder Woman 1984 hits theaters later this year. But of course, she’s bringing back her classic look as well. This includes her lasso of truth, the iconic weapon that’s served her well for the past several decades. Now, Warner Bros. (via ComicBookMovie.com) has debuted a new poster for the upcoming sequel that shows Diana striking a heroic pose with the magical lariat. You can check it out for yourself below.

Needless to say, the glow of the lasso complements her new Golden Eagle armor nicely. It also stands in nice contrast with the flashy background colors befitting the film’s ‘80s setting. The lasso has appeared in three previous DCEU entries. However, it looks like the weapon will see even more action in the sequel. Recent trailers and images have shown Diana using it against Pedro Pascal’s Maxwell Lord and Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, Wonder Woman 1984 recently vacated its original June premiere date in favor of an August opening. But apparently, this isn’t set in stone either. Warner Bros. is reportedly waiting to see if enough movie theaters will be open to show Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, which is still due for release in August. If theaters are still closed, Tenet will move to Wonder Woman 1984’s August date and push the DC sequel back to December.

Currently, Wonder Woman 1984 is still on track to open in theaters on August 14. What do you think of the film’s new poster? Give us your impressions in the comment section!
