Noah Centineo Cast As Atom Smasher In Black Adam Movie

The long-awaited Black Adam was once again delayed by the coronavirus pandemic. However, the film has finally added a cast member beyond Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam. Via The Hollywood Reporter, Noah Centineo has been cast as Albert Rothstein AKA Atom Smasher. In the comics, Atom Smasher has superhuman strength and the ability to change his size at will. Atom Smasher and Black Adam were rivals on the Justice Society of America. Regardless, they grew to become close friends over time.

Centineo starred in To All the Boys I’ve Loved and its sequel on Netflix. Additionally, Centineo had a leading role on The Fosters for three seasons. Centineo has also been attached to the Masters of the Universe reboot as He-Man. But that film has yet to be put into production.

In the original comics, the wizard Shazam picked Black Adam as his champion in ancient Egypt. But Black Adam abused his powers and the wizard was forced to banish him for thousands of years. More recently, Black Adam was reintroduced as a villain before becoming a more complex character. He has also become one of DC’s most popular antiheroes.
