Joseph Gordon-Levitt Takes a Bullet in a New Project Power Preview Clip

It’s only been a week since Netflix gave us our first look at Project Power. But it turns out the streaming service wasn’t done showing off Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost’s upcoming take on the superhero genre. While plugging the film at Comic-Con@Home, Netflix dropped a clip from Project Power that shows Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s character using some newfound abilities to get himself out of a jam.

Gordon-Levitt stars in the movie as Frank Schaeffer, a New Orleans police officer who, along with Jamie Foxx’s Art, gets wind of a drug that imbues its users with superpowers for five minutes. This latest clip shows viewers what happens when Frank tries the pill for himself. A chase with a semi-invisible user culminates in a standoff in an alley that causes Frank to get shot in the head. Luckily, the drug has made him bulletproof. And a single bullet won’t be enough to keep him down.

Schulman and Joost (Catfish) directed Project Power from a script written by The Batman co-writer Mattson Tomlin. The film also stars Dominique Fishback, Machine Gun Kelly, Rodrigo Santoro, and Courtney B. Vance.

Project Power will debut on Netflix on August 14.
