James Gunn Reveals Every Major Role In The Suicide Squad At DC FanDome

At DC FanDomeThe Suicide Squad director James Gunn finally revealed a few of the film’s closely guarded secrets. That includes Idris Elba’s mystery role. Rumor had it that Elba would portray Bronze Tiger. However, it turns out that Elba will actually play Bloodsport, a Superman villain who joins the team for the sequel. Additionally, Storm Reid will play Tyla, Bloodsport’s daughter.

The other reveals included John Cena as Peace-maker, Flula Borg as Javelin, Nathan Fillion as T.D.K., Peter Capaldi as The Thinker, Pete Davidson as Blackguard, Sean Gunn as Weasel, Michael Rooker as Savant, Alice Braga as Solsoria, and Mayling Ng as Mongal. Daniela Melchior was previously revealed as Ratcatcher 2, alongside David Dastmalchian’s Polka-Dot Man. Steve Agee will provide the voice of King Shark.

Margot Robbie also stars in the movie as Harley Quinn, reprising her role from the first film. Robbie will also be joined by her fellow Suicide Squad veterans Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang. You can watch the video reveal below.

Additionally, Gunn said that John Ostrander’s Suicide Squad run from the ’80s was a primary influence on the film. Gunn also said that he’s treating the film like a sequel to Ostrander’s comics set 30 years later.  Shortly thereafter, Gunn dropped the first behind-the-scenes video from the film, and a new poster.

The Suicide Squad will hit theaters on August 6, 2021.
