Zack Snyder’s Justice League Cast Will Film New Scenes Next Month

Next year, HBO Max will reward the #RelaseTheSnyderCut movement by finally premiering Zack Snyder’s original vision for Justice League. But in order for Snyder to finish the movie he originally set out to make, he’ll need some extra help from his cast. Contrary to earlier rumors, The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Snyder will be shooting new Justice League footage after all. The new scenes will feature Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and even Ray Fisher as Cyborg.

As THR notes, seeing Fisher’s name on the call sheet is rather surprising. Fisher is embroiled in a bitter war of words with Warner Bros. over how he and his fellow actors were allegedly mistreated by Joss Whedon during Justice League‘s reshoots. Warner Bros. ordered a formal third-party investigation of the matter last month. However, Fisher has since questioned the investigation’s independence. More recently, Jason Momoa became the only other Justice League cast member to publicly support Fisher’s claims. It’s also worth noting that Momoa and Ezra Miller don’t seem to be part of the upcoming reshoots.

During August’s DC FanDome event, Snyder confirmed that Fisher’s character would have a larger role to play in his version of Justice League.

THR also shed additional light on where Fisher stands over his proposed cameo in The Flash. It notes that Fisher’s character, Cyborg, was a “much more active player” in the previous drafts of the script. But in the current draft, Cyborg only has “what’s described as a three-scene appearance.” Warner Bros. used its cameo clause in Fisher’s contract and made an offer. However, Fisher’s representatives countered with an offer for twice that amount. Since then, talks have remained stalled between the two sides.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League will debut on HBO Max as a four-episode miniseries in 2021.
