During DC FanDome, Dwayne Johnson confirmed that the Justice Society will appear in Black Adam. Noah Centineo has already been cast as Atom Smasher, and now it looks like another member of the Justice Society has been found.
The Wrap is reporting that Aldis Hodge is in negotiations to portray Hawkman in Black Adam. It’s unclear which version of Hawkman Hodge will portray if the deal goes through. However, the most frequent incarnation of Hawkman is Carter Hall, an archeologist who discovers he is a reincarnation of the original Hawkman from ancient Egypt.
Hodge’s most recent film was The Invisible Man. However, he is best known for co-starring in Leverage on TNT. Hodge has also appeared in Hidden Figures, Straight Outta Compton, and What Men Want.

In DC Comics’ lore, Black Adam was the original champion of the wizard Shazam thousands of years ago. Regardless, Black Adam abused his powers and was banished by the wizard. In the present, Black Adam reinvented himself as an antihero and joined the Justice Society alongside Hawkman and Atom Smasher. But Black Adam eventually went his own way, and left the team behind to rule and protect his homeland, Kahndaq.
Jaume Collet-Serra will direct Black Adam from a script by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani. Filming will likely begin in mid-2021.
