Netflix is getting more fantasy movies in the pipeline. According to Deadline, the streaming service has signed British actress Millie Bobby Brown for a new fantasy film called Damsel. Per the official description, Brown will play Princess Elodie, “who thinks she is marrying Prince Henry, only to find out that she is being sacrificed to a dragon.” Spanish filmmaker Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) will helm the movie’s direction with a story by Dan Mazeau (Wrath of the Titans).
Besides starring as the title character, Brown will also executive produce Damsel together with Mazeau, Zack Roth, and Chris Castaldi. Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum also produce. Netflix has yet to announce an official release date.

Save for the few words of description, the story details are still under wrap. But knowing the previous works Brown has starred in, it’s hard to imagine that she will portray the classic damsel in distress who needs to be saved by a shiny-armored prince. In her latest movie, Enola Holmes, the actress showed some slick jiu-jitsu moves. While it may be hard to kill a dragon with a choke, the plot of the upcoming Damsel might turn some cliches on their heads.
In the meantime, fans will soon see Brown as Eleven in the fourth season of Stranger Things, which hasn’t yet announced an official release date.
