Rupert Grint Open to Return as Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter Franchise

It looks like there is still a little magic in Rupert Grint. The actor best-known for his role as Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter movies has recently expressed openness to a hypothetical return to the franchise. While talking with Comicbook, Grint stated that he’s very fond of the character and wouldn’t mind returning when the time’s right.

“I don’t know,” he said. “I would never say, ‘Absolutely no.’ It was a huge part of my life and I’m very fond of that character and their stories. So yeah, I mean, I’d be up for it at the right time. I don’t know what capacity that would be, but yeah, we’ll see.”

Grint portrayed for a decade Harry Potter’s best friend on-screen. His last appearance in the Weasley family dates back to 2011, when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 hit theaters.

At the moment, the Wizarding World movies focus on Newt Scamander’s adventures in Fantastic Beasts, and there are no plans to see the old guard (Harry, Ron, and Hermione) making an appearance. However, never say never, as the franchise has included time travel, and plenty of magic. However, there might be a significant hindrance. When asked in February about dusting off the magic wand, actor Daniel Radcliffe rejected any future involvement with Harry Potter, stating that he doesn’t want to play the role of the young wizard again.
