Godzilla vs. Kong Moves Up Two Months To March

Warner Bros. has just announced that Godzilla vs. Kong is no longer coming out on May 21. Instead, the new release date for the monster movie grudge match is March 26 on HBO Max and theaters. Initially, Legendary Pictures was reportedly upset over Warner Bros.’ decision to bring Godzilla vs. Kong to HBO Max. However, recent reports indicated that the two sides were close to an agreement. Presumably it has now gone forward.

Godzilla vs. Kong is the culmination of two Godzilla movies and Kong: Skull Island. Here’s the description from Warner Bros. Pictures:

“Legends collide as Godzilla and Kong, the two most powerful forces of nature, clash in a spectacular battle for the ages. As a squadron embarks on a perilous mission into fantastic uncharted terrain, unearthing clues to the Titans’ very origins and mankind’s survival, a conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the Earth forever.”

Adam Wingard directed Godzilla vs. Kong, from a script by Terry Rossio.
