DC Heroes Fight Nazis in the First Justice Society: World War II Trailer

For the first time ever, DC’s Golden Age superheroes are about to headline their very own animated movie. IGN has premiered the new trailer for Justice Society: World War II.

In case the title didn’t give it away, the film takes place in the 1940s. America’s military forces are stretched to their breaking point in their fight against the Nazis. To combat the growing threat, President Roosevelt allows the members of the Justice Society to intervene. But even the combined might of their various superpowers is barely enough to keep their fascist enemies at bay. Fortunately, they’re getting some extra help from an unlikely source: Barry Allen, whose first encounter with the Speed Force sends him backwards in time and brings him face to face with the era’s premiere’s superhero team, which is led by Wonder Woman and also features Barry’s predecessor as The Flash, Jay Garrick.

Barry will also fight alongside other Justice Society mainstays like Hawkman, Black Canary, Hourman. The film boasts an all-star voice cast led by Matt Bomer and Stana Katic as Barry Allen and Wonder Woman, respectively. Bomer and Katic previously worked together on DC’s Superman: Unbound as Clark Kent and Lois Lane. Additionally, the new film’s home media release includes an animated short titled Kamandi: The Last Boy On Earth!

Justice Society: World War II is expected to hit stores sometime this spring.
