Matt Reeves Announces The Batman Has Wrapped Filming

After more than a full year of producing in the United Kingdom, The Batman has wrapped filming. The long-gestating production was mainly to the COVID-19 situation, which had a profound impact upon the movie’s set. The last hindrance occurred back on Sept. 3, 2020, when someone involved with the filming tested positive. Although the producers kept the name of that person quiet, several reports indicated The Batman star Robert Pattinson was the infected individual. Production resumed a couple of weeks later. But now it sounds like that situation is just a distant memory, as director Matt Reeves took to Instagram to share a photo from his last day on the set.

Warner Bros. had already halted production on Matt Reeves’ upcoming movie back in March 2020 when most of the world had to stop after the COVID-19 outbreak. The delay forced Warner Bros. to move down the film’s debut from June to Oct. 2021, given that Reeves had shot only 25% of the movie at that time. Ultimately, the producers had to move the movie’s release once again, this time to 2022. During the lockdown, Pattinson joked that he wasn’t exercising at all for his upcoming role, but the first look at the film from DC FanDome in August 2020 revealed that the actor was simply trolling the fans.

According to the producers’ plans, The Batman will hit theaters on March 4, 2022.
