Fans may have to wait for quite some time before seeing Gamora and the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy back in action. The third installment in the franchise should hit theaters somewhere in 2023. In the meantime, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn is revealing some exciting behind-the-scenes secrets about the making of the movies. Most recently, Gunn took to Twitter to show off some masks and dummies used in the first movie for a scene involving actresses Zoe Saldana and Pom Klementieff.
Equally fun is this complete body dummy we made for Gamora for Vol 1. Because we shot our floating in outer space scenes underwater, Gamora’s lifeless body when Quill saves her was mostly the dummy (at the bottom of the photo). It worked fantastically. pic.twitter.com/hy3iJg6H3K

The director went on to praise the performances of Saldana and Klementieff for their roles as Gamora and Mantis, respectively.
Despite what some actors claim, I’ve never heard of an actor who does all their own stunts. We have competent, talented stunt doubles for both Zoe & Pom. That said, @zoesaldana does do way more than most – wire gags & fighting most can’t or won’t do. https://t.co/WH3fOWHdz6
