Netflix has just released the trailer for The Mitchells vs. The Machines, produced by Chris Miller and Phil Lord. The story will pit one of the last surviving families against a horde of robots who wants to wipe out humans from Earth. (Among other foes, 1998’s electronic robotic toy Furby takes part in the attack). The fate of humanity lies in the hands of this dysfunctional family, who just wanted to take their annual family trip. From the creatives and studio which gave us Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, it’s a story that spotlights the uniqueness of each individual, teaching us once again the values of humanity while joking about the recent (ab)use of technology.
