In The Long Halloween miniseries, Loeb and Sale told a story from early in Batman’s career. As Bruce Wayne’s alter ego tried to take down the mob, an enigmatic serial killer called Holiday struck once a month. It also dealt with the emergence of Two-Face and other supervillains in the city. Additionally, The Long Halloween was influential for both Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins and Matt Reeves’ The Batman.
