Great news for Indiana Jones fans. According to Deadline, the fifth installment in the saga will start filming at Pinewood Studios in the UK next week. At the moment of writing, the next adventure for the most famous archeologist in the world hasn’t gotten an official title yet. The last time fans saw Harrison Ford donning Dr. Henry Walton Jones Junior’s hat was in 2008’s Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull. Ford will dust off Indy’s whip for a fifth (and likely last) time in the upcoming movie, which will see Phoebe Waller-Bridge co-starring with Ford. The rest of the cast includes Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson and Thomas Kretschmann, whose roles are still undisclosed.

After a series of changes, including Steven Spielberg vacating the director’s chair at the beginning of 2020, the movie will see James Mangold at the helm and Dan Fogelman on the script. Composer John Williams will provide the score once again. Details about the script are still kept under wrap, but at least one cast member praised it, revealing that the producers gave them the freedom to add their spin to the part they are playing.
In the meantime, Lucasfilm is working on expanding the franchise with a new Indiana Jones game. The project involves Swedish video game developer MachineGames and Todd Howard of Bethesda Games Studios.
According to the producers’ plans, Indiana Jones 5 will hit theaters on July 29, 2022.
