After years in development hell, The Flash is currently filming. Director Andy Muschietti has already celebrated that milestone by dropping previews for Michael Keaton’s Batman and Ezra Miller’s Flash. However, it’s now Supergirl’s turn.
Earlier this morning, Muschietti shared a post on Instagram that features a close up of Sasha Calle’s Supergirl costume from the film. Calle is the first actress to portray Supergirl on the big screen since Helen Slater in the 1984 Supergirl movie. The Supergril logo is also noticeably similar to the one worn by Henry Cavill’s Superman.

Supergirl doesn’t really have a big role in the Flashpoint storyline that inspired this film. Regardless, that comic book miniseries did feature an emaciated Superman who was locked away for decades. Potentially, that could be the part that the new Supergirl plays in this adaptation.
Now that Muschietti has dropped teasers for the first three heroes in The Flash, perhaps Ben Affleck’s Batman will be his next preview. Ron Livingston and Maribel Verdú will also co-star in The Flash as Barry Allen’s parents, Henry and Nora Allen. Additionally, Kiersey Clemons will reprise her role as Iris West from Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
The Flash will hit theaters on November 4, 2022.
