Vesemir Unleashes Hell in The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf Teaser

Keep your coins at hand as a new witcher is about to make his debut on Netflix. In a few weeks, the streaming network will expand the world of The Witcher with an animated spin-off movie featuring one essential character in the world created by Andrzej Sapkowski. The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf will see the debut of Vesemir, who will also play a pivotal role in the sophomore season’s events of the live-action series. In the books, Vesemir is the mentor and a father figure for Geralt of Rivia. And now, Netflix has debuted a teaser for the upcoming feature. The freshly-released video sees the young version of Geralt’s mentor facing some unnatural creatures, as the world still doesn’t accept witchers.

Per the official description, “the world of The Witcher expands in this anime origin story: Before Geralt, there was his mentor Vesemir — a swashbuckling young witcher who escaped a life of poverty to slay monsters for coins. But when a strange new monster begins terrorizing a politically fraught kingdom, Vesemir finds himself on a frightening adventure that forces him to confront the demons of his past.”

The voice cast includes Theo James as Vesemir, Lara Pulver as Tetra, Graham McTavish as Deglan, and Mary McDonnell as Lady Zerbst.

Nightmare of the Wolf will debut on Netflix on Aug. 23, 2021.
