WB Animation Drops New Clips From Batman: The Long Halloween, Part 2

Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One left fans with one hell of a cliffhanger. But luckily, the wait for Part 2 is almost over. Ahead of the sequel’s release on digital this week, Warner Bros. Animation has premiered a few new clips from the film, spotlighting both the Dark Knight himself and the rise of his newest enemy.

At this point, is it even a Batman movie if it doesn’t rehash the Caped Crusader’s tragic origin? Well, The Long Halloween, Part 2 would have us believe the answer’s no, because that’s exactly what happens in the first clip. To be fair, the film’s only following the lead of the original graphic novel, which showed Bruce Wayne returning to Crime Alley after being infected by the Scarecrow’s fear toxin.

But it looks like the movie is taking a different approach to this scene. Instead, a weakened Bruce appears in full costume and encounters a family that bears a striking resemblance to his own. This ultimately triggers a flashback to that fateful night when his parents were gunned down in front of him. Unfortunately, the family’s less than willing to lend the hero a hand.

Additionally, the studio (via IGN) has released another clip that shows the aftermath of Harvey Dent’s disfigurement. As he lies fully-bandaged in a hospital bed, Gotham’s once dashing D.A. begins a chilling conversation with himself, completing his inevitable transformation into Two-Face. Check it out for yourself below.
