Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Has Wrapped Filming

Get ready, Transformers fans, because more big screen robot fights are officially inbound. The next installment in Paramount’s long-running franchise, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, has finally completed filming.

Director Steven Caple Jr. celebrated the end of production with a new Instagram photo, which shows him sitting in the driver’s seat of the big rig standing in for Optimus Prime’s G1-inspired vehicular form. Check it out for yourself below.

Rise of the Beasts will introduce Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback as new franchise heroes, Noah and Elena. They soon find themselves joining the Autobots in their fight against Scourge and his villainous army of Terrorcons. Whereas the last entry in the Transformers saga, Bumblebee, took place in 1987, Rise of the Beasts moves the timeline up to 1994. Most of the new film’s action will take place right in the heart of Brooklyn. However, the characters will also be venturing farther south to Peru, where we can expect them to visit a number of iconic locations like Machu Picchu.

Earlier this month, Caple shared an early look at the vehicular forms of some of the film’s other new robot characters, including Mirage, Wheeljack, and Arcee. Both Ramos and Fishback got their driver’s licences prior to the start of filming, so it looks like we can expect them to do some of their own stunts. Additionally, the sequel will bring in characters from Hasbro’s Beast Wars line, with several Predacons and Maximals making their live-action debut.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will hit theaters on June 24, 2022.
