Sylvester Stallone is Returning For Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

After getting his old team back together at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Stakar Ogord is officially returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In a new post on Instagram, Sylvester Stallone confirmed that he’s reprising his role as the high-ranking Ravager in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Stallone announced his involvement with the sequel earlier today by posting two videos from the set that give fans a better look at the behind-the-scenes process. The first video shows him inside a contraption designed to photograph several facial expressions so the filmmakers can duplicate them if the actor isn’t around. The second clip shows the machine in action. Check out Stallone’s post below.

Stakar Ogord (also known as Starhawk in the comics) was introduced in an early scene in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, where it was revealed that he saved Yondu from being a Kree slave and recruited him to join the Ravagers. He exiled Yondu from the gang after getting wind of his child trafficking operation. However, Yondu’s sacrifice at the end of the film convinced Stakar to reach out to several of his former allies, including Aleta Ogord, Charlie-27, Martinex, Mainframe, and Krugarr. Once they were all reunited, they set off on a new cosmic heist.

James Gunn officially announced the start of production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 earlier this week. The film will also mark the first appearance of Will Poulter as Adam Warlock. Chukwudi Iwuji has also been cast in an undisclosed role.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hits theaters on May 5, 2023.
