Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Has Wrapped Production

The production schedule for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 had lot going on in addition the actual film. Director James Gunn and his cast and crew not only wrapped up their trilogy, they also filmed The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and original scenes for Walt Disney World’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Now, barring any reshoots, it’s all done. Gunn announced on Twitter that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has wrapped.

To go along with the announcement, Gunn shared a behind-the-scenes picture of himself with most of the cast.

Notably absent from the pic was Zoe Saldana, the actress who plays Gamora. Gunn said that the only picture he had with Saldana was with a previously unannounced actress from the film.

The actress on Saldana’s right is Jennifer Holland, who plays Emilia Harcourt in HBO Max’s Peacemaker. She is also Gunn’s fiancée. Holland’s Peacemaker co-star, Chukwudi Iwuji, was cast in the film last year. So far, neither of their characters have been revealed.

In addition to Saldana, Holland, and Iwuji, the cast will feature Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, and Will Poulter as Adam Warlock. Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel will also reprise their vocal roles as Rocket and Groot, respectively. Additionally, Sean Gunn will be back as Kraglin alongside Sylvester Stallone’s Stakar Ogord.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will hit theaters on May 5, 2023.
