In one week, Evil Dead Rise will unleash the Necronomicon on yet another group of helpless victims. Regardless, fans can sample the film’s haunting musical themes a little early. As of today, composer Stephen McKeon’s score for the latest chapter in the Evil Dead saga is officially available on all major streaming platforms.
Evil Dead Rise director Lee Cronin previously worked with McKeon on his feature debut, The Hole in the Ground, in 2019. With his most recent project, McKeon follows in the footsteps of Joseph LoDuca — who composed all three films in Sam Raimi’s original Evil Dead trilogy along with Ash vs. Evil Dead — and Roque Baños, who scored Fede Álvarez’s 2013 reboot. McKeon’s contribution to the franchise comprises 20 tracks spanning a total 72 minutes in length. And it even boasts alluring song names like “Eeny Meeny Miney DIE!” and “Psycho Bitch.” But be warned: other titles might give away some minor spoilers.

Additionally, Waxwork Records — the company behind vinyl releases of countless iconic horror soundtracks, including those for recent films like M3GAN and Knock at the Cabin — posted a since-deleted tweet teasing its own pressing of McKeon’s Evil Dead Rise themes. Pre-orders aren’t live, but it sounds like they’ll launch to coincide with the film’s theatrical premiere next Friday. The album’s page on Waxwork’s official website also reveals the LP’s cover art, which was designed by Steve Reeves.
Evil Dead Rise opens on April 21.
