There’s still a long ways to go before Venom 3 will be ready for theaters, but Sony Pictures is reportedly close to landing one of the film’s leading actresses. Deadline is reporting that Juno Temple is in negotiations to co-star in Venom 3 opposite Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock. However, as is often the case with comic book movies, details about Temple’s character have not been disclosed.
Temple does have some genre experience with a minor role as Selina Kyle’s accomplice, Jen, in The Dark Knight Rises, and she played Thistlewit in Maleficent and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. Her other film credits include Magic Magic, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, The Three Musketeers, The Other Boleyn Girl, and Black Mass.
However, Temple may be best known for her leading role as Keeley Jones in AppleTV+’s breakout comedy series, Ted Lasso. Temple is also slated for a leading role in the fifth season of FX’s Fargo.

Story details about Venom 3 have yet to be disclosed, but there may be consequences from Eddie/Venom’s cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home. While briefly trapped in the MCU, Eddie accidentally left a piece of the Venom symbiote behind when he was sent back to his own Earth. This may eventually lead to a battle between Hardy’s Venom and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.
Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage writer Kelly Marcel will direct the upcoming sequel. Additionally, the story for Venom 3 will be co-written by Marcel and Hardy. But for now, the project does not have a release date.
