The new Batman: Caped Crusader poster comes courtesy of photographs taken during a Prime Video presentation on their three Batman shows. It is seen alongside images of Merry Little Batman and Bat-Family — two other shows that Amazon picked up from Warner Bros. Discovery. Batman: Caped Crusader was originally created by Warner Bros. Discovery, but was scrapped following the merger of both companies in 2022. However, interest in the series was intense, and multiple streamers reportedly made inquiries on acquiring the series. In the end, Amazon ended up acquiring the rights to the show, and made a two-season order for it.
Batman: Caped Crusader was first announced back in 2021 and is billed as an adult animated series focusing on the iconic superhero. The show is led by Bruce Timm, J.J. Abrams, and Matt Reeves.
While not much of the plot is known, it’s said to be a reimagining of the character that aims to bring things back to their noir roots and focus on the earlier years of Batman’s journey through Gotham City as a crimefighter before he befriended Commissioner James Gordon and the GCPD.
