Neil Gaiman’s Sandman has been one of the most celebrated comics of the past 25 years and its journey to the big screen has been a tough one. Earlier today, Neil himself tweeted this message: “Some years ago, I had to pitch/explain SANDMAN to Warners. Jill thompson illustrated the pitch. That art’s for sale.”
If you’re versed in the Sandman mythology and have a keen eye, you’ll be able to tell that this concept art covers the entire run of the comic. Now if this was for one film, a series of films, or made simply to explain the title in the pitch is left to be known, but it’s still really cool.
