Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Guardians of the Galaxy Will be Released in 3D

It shouldn’t surprise anyone that Walt Disney Pictures has officially announced that Marvel Studios’ Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy will be shown in 3D when they’re released. 

The trend started with 2011’s Thor and each film since (Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers, and the upcoming Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World) have been shown in the format.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier will star Chris Evans, reprising his role as Steve Rogers/Captain America, and franchise newcomers Anthony Mackie in the role of the Falcon and Frank Grillo as Crossbones. Reprising their roles from The Avengers are Samuel L. Jackson as Fury, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill. Also returning is Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier. The film will be directed by by Anthony and Joe Russo and will be released on April 4, 2014.

Guardians of the Galaxy is being directed by James Gunn from a script originally drafted by Chris McCoy and Nicole Periman. The team in the film will consist of Star-Lord, Drax the Destroyer, Groot, Rocket Racoon and Gamora. The film is set to be released on August 1, 2014.
