Earlier this year, we ran a story that NBC’s hit series Heroes might be making a come back on a different platform. Those reports weren’t totally off, but the result isn’t what we expected. Dynamite Entertainment has just announced (via CBR) a new ongoing comic series based on the property that will pick up where the series left off. The Sixth Gun creator Cullen Bunn will write the series, which is still looking for a regular artist. It will hit stores later this year.
Bunn also spoke CBR about his involvement and how he’s planning to approach the material.
“I was a faithful viewer of ‘Heroes’ when it was on television,” Bunn said. “The things that most appealed to me about this are that I like the world. I like the concept of ordinary people who discovery they have these powers and are working in a world where superheroes are not common knowledge. It’s all about normal people discovering this and the situations they get into. There are some aspects of that which are still out there to be discovered.”
