20th Century Fox Signs First Look Deal with Comic Publisher Boom! Studios

“Boom!/Archaia has emerged as a publishing powerhouse devoted to original innovative storytelling and world class artists,” said 20th Century Fox president Emma Watts. “Along with our recent deal with Epic, this relationship reinforces Fox’s commitment to attracting top tier talent with smart commercial content, as well as supporting a new breed of producer.”

Fox has already been hard at work developing other Boom! Studios comics for film and television even before this deal was finalized. Rio director Carlos Saldanha is in talks to direct an adaptation of the graphic novel “Rust,” while former “24” showrunner Howard Gordon is bringing the series Unthinkable to television.

Boom! Studios was founded in 2005 and in addition to many licensed comic books, has also published many original series such as Day Men, Kill Audio, Fanboys vs. Zombies, and Irredeembale.
