Disney and Lucasfilm, as you’ve no doubt noticed, have been a little secretive about what is going on with Star Wars: Episode VII. While the cast is still coming together for the highly-anticipated sequel, it seems ComingSoon.net may have stumbled upon another character returning in an unlikely place.
This morning, the Comicpalooza convention in Houston, TX posted the following:
We regret to announce that Peter Mayhew is canceling his appearance at Comicpalooza this year due to filming.

Comicpalooza is held May 23-26 and “Episode VII” was recently confirmed to start filming in May 2014. Given that Mayhew doesn’t exactly film very often, it’s quite a coincidence that he’s filming a new project in May. So if we’re taking an educated guess, it seems like Chewbacca is back for Star Wars: Episode VII. Check back here for possible confirmation on the matter soon.
Directed by J.J. Abrams and written by Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan, Star Wars: Episode VII will hit theaters on December 18, 2015.
