Even though “The Amazing Spider-Man” film series has done a good job of bringing in characters previously unseen on the big screen, many fans have been wondering when other fan favorites will be making a return, such as The Daily Bugle editor-in-chief, J. Jonah Jameson. While taking part in a Google+ Hangout, director Marc Webb was asked if we would be seeing him in the future, to which he replied:
“I like the idea very much of him coming up in the next film. It was more easy to accept a new Spider-Man than someone who could out do J.K. Simmons in that role, he is so iconic. That’s something we’ve really talked about. Obviously I love that character because he poses such an interesting dilemma for Spider-Man. The answer is I don’t know, but I think you can expect to see him in the future.”
Jameson has been teased a number of times by The Daily Bugle viral site for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and while this is far from an official announcement. it does seem likely we’ll be seeing JJJ in the near future, especially with The Amazing Spider-Man 3 dated for June 10, 2016. You can check out the rest of the Google+ Hangout with Webb and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, and Dane DeHaan below.
Now playing in several international markets, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 debuts domestically on May 2.
