Alec Baldwin has two potential major big screen roles on his plate as Deadline reports that he’s in talks to star in both Christopher McQuarrie’s Mission: Impossible 5 as well as Peter Landesman’s untitled film about NFL concussions, already slated for Will Smith to headline.
Mission: Impossible 5, which features a script by Will Staples and Drew Pearce, would cast Baldwin as the head of the CIA. Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner and Simon Pegg are all set to reprise their respective roles.
Landesman’s film, meanwhile, based on Jeanne Marie Laskas’ 2009 GQ article “Game Brain” (you can read it in its entirety right here), the film will provide a narrative that explores the long-term effects of concussions among professional football players.
The outlet also notes that Baldwin is looking to headline an hourlong cable series about a “Rob Ford type” mayor and the trouble he gets into.
