Archer & Armstrong Film Moving Forward with Sean Daniel Company

Last week came the rumor that Valiant Entertainment was quickly trying to get a film adaptation of their comic series Archer & Armstrong into production, and now Valiant Entertainment has officially announced that they will be teaming up with the Sean Daniel Company (The Best Man Holiday, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor) to produce the project. They also revealed that the screenplay for the film was written by BenDavid Grabinski and will be produced by Sean Daniel, Jason Brown and Valiant CEO Dinesh Shamdasani.

“Archer & Armstrong is one of the greatest untapped franchises in comics, and BenDavid’s script is delivering a vision for these characters that has made us all very, very excited,” Sean Daniel said in a statement. “The movie is about the relationship between these two amazing characters, the comic clash between optimism and pessimism, and how family is the most important unifier. It combines globe-spanning action with BenDavid’s singular sense of humor, and is rooted in resonant themes that give it a powerful emotional core.”

In addition, Valiant Entertainment has revealed that the J. Michael Straczynski-scripted Shadowman film has also been set up in conjunction with the Sean Daniel Company.

Created by Jim Shooter, Bob Layton and Barry Windsor-Smith, Archer & Armstrong debuted in 1992 where their misadventures began. The series stars Archer, a master martial artist born into a stark religious home, and Armstrong, an immortal being with enhanced abilities, with the pair finding themselves at odds originally as Archer seeks to kill the immortal globe hopper. Though the two quickly form a bond when they realize that they’re being hunted by a secret group called The Sect.
