Back at the San Diego Comic-Con, it was revealed that the “big bad” for the upcoming third season of “Arrow” would be none other than Ra’s al Ghul. Though casting is still coming together for the character on the series, there is one person who previously played the role and would jump right back in, if he could. Speaking with MTV, Liam Neeson was asked if he had been approached about reprising the role to which he replied:
“No, I haven’t, I haven’t at all. I would, in a heartbeat, if it came my way, yeah, very much so.”
Neeson then went on to offer whoever is cast in the role a bit of advice, saying:
“They have to believe in their philosophy. Ra’s al Ghul absolutely believed what he was doing was ultimately saving civilization, and it was quite a good argument he comes up with. Throughout the ages this fraternity, that brought the plague to wipe out a section of mankind because it needed to be regenerated again. Very dangerous, but you have to believe it.”
Neeson, of course, played the role in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins and even reprised it briefly in 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises.
