It goes without saying that despite how much time an actor has spent in the gym to play a superhero, their costume might add a little bit more to what is already there so as to fully shape their look as the character. Not the case with Paul Rudd’s upcoming Ant-Man costume, which his co-star Michael Douglas said had to be altered because he had spent so much time in the gym.
“Paul Rudd is ripped,” Douglas told MTV News. “He’s been training and working out for this picture for a long time. He was so cut, that they had to soften his costume up, with all the built-in six-packs and all of that.”
Douglas went on to say that he won’t be appearing in costume in the upcoming film, which he’ll be leaving all to Paul.
“My costume will be hung up and Paul will be wearing it in good form.”
Also starring Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Abby Ryder Fortson, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Wood Harris, John Slattery, Gregg Turkington and T.I., the Peyton Reed-directed Ant-Man hits theaters on July 17, 2015.
