New Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Set Photos Reveal an Infamous Location, Now Updated with Video!

UPDATE: Instagram user Dan Marcus is back with another video from the set of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Yesterday’s photos revealed a new location for the shoot that seemingly revealed that the film would be showing the death of Thomas and Martha Wayne once again, and now we have a video of that very scene being shot! The original story follows:

Some intriguing new set photos from Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice have arrived online thanks to fan Dan Marcus, who posted the following from the Chicago set to Instagram. Bat-fans will immediately recognize that marquee: The Mark of Zorro is famously the film that was playing the night Bruce Wayne’s parents were shot. It’s looking pretty likely that we’ll see some version of that tragic night in the March 25, 2016 release.

Assuming the Excalibur marquee is not referring to a revival, that places the scene in 1981. If Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne is then supposed to be the same age as the actor, that would mean that young Bruce is roughly nine years old during the attack. It’s also worth noting that, over the years, the comics have referred to the film being both the 1920 and 1940 versions of The Mark of Zorro. The 1940 Tyrone Power version, as shown below, is specifically noted in a brief flashback sequence in Frank Miller’s “The Dark Knight Returns,” long cited by Snyder as a major influence on his 2016 superhero showdown.

Also starring Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Jena Malone, Holly Hunter and Scoot McNairy, the Zack Snyder directed Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
