Unboxing Hasbro’s Comic-Con Exclusive Ant-Man Action Figure Set

Comic-Con International is just two weeks away, but SHH got an early surprise today with a package from Hasbro containing one of this year’s exclusive action figure sets, offering five different action figure versions of Marvel’s newest movie star, Ant-Man! We’ve prepared an unboxing gallery of the set, which you can check out in the gallery viewer below.

Although scale is largely irrelevant when it comes to the size-shifting superhero, this set’s Hank Pym figure is in the 3.75″ Marvel Infinite scale and features swappable heads with and without the Ant-Man helmet. On the larger side of things, there’s both a 6″ Goliath and a 12″ Giant Man (the latter wearing the more recent comic book version of the costume) while, in a smaller scale, there’s both 1.5″ Scott Lang Ant-Man and a tiny 1″ version of the original Hank Pym Ant-Man costume.

The set comes in an impressive package shaped liked Ant-Man’s head with articulated antennae and a window box that folds opens to reveal the heroes’ many iterations. Although it can sometimes be tricky to brave the lines, fans can theoretically pick up this set themselves in San Diego at Hasbro’s booth for $64.99. There’s also another Ant-Man figure — an inch-tall version of Paul Rudd’s Marvel Cinematic Universe costume — packaged in a matchbox for $9.99.

The Ant-Man movie, meanwhile, stars Paul Rudd (This is 40They Came Together), Evangeline Lilly (“LOST,” The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies) and Michael Douglas (The GameAnd So It Goes) and brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time. Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang (Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

Also starring are Corey Stoll (“The Strain,” “House of Cards”), Judy Greer (“Archer,” Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Martin Donovan (Inherent ViceInsomnia), Wood Harris (DreddRemember the Titans), John Slattery (“Mad Men,” Iron Man 2), Gregg Turkington (“Gravity Falls,” The Comedy), and Abby Ryder Fortson (“Togetherness,” “The Whispers”), Ant-Man features a script by Edgar Wright, Joe Cornish, Paul Rudd and Adam McKay and is directed by Peyton Reed. Look for it in theaters July 17.
