Update: TV Insider has learned from Marvel Entertainment that the animated “Guardians of the Galaxy” series will premiere on September 26 on Disney XD, with special sneak preview of the series set to air on Saturday, September 5. The original story follows.
The posters for two of Marvel Entertainment’s upcoming television offerings have debuted online with the season three poster for “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” revealed by TV Insider and “Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy” poster courtesy of IGN. You can check them both out below!
Created by artist Jim Cheung and colorist Romulo Fajardo Jr., fans will be able to pick up their own copy of the “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” poster at the Marvel Booth at the San Diego Comic-Con. The cast and crew for the series will convene for the Marvel Television Presents panel at 3:00 PM on Friday July 11 in Ballroom 20 with the Marvel Animation Presents panel starting at 10:30 AM on Saturday July 12 in Room 6BCF.
“Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” is executive produced by Joss Whedon (Avengers: Age of Ultron, Marvel’s The Avengers); Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, (“Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” pilot co-writers, “Dollhouse,” “Dr.Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog”); Jeffrey Bell (“Angel,” “Alias”); and Jeph Loeb (“Marvel’s Agent Carter,” “Marvel’s Daredevil,” “Lost”). The series stars Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, Adriannge Palicki, Luke Mitchell, and Henry Simmons.
Produced by Marvel Television, the series stars Peter Quill as Star-Lord, the brash adventurer who, to save the universe from its greatest threats, joins forces with a quartet of disparate misfits – fan-favorite Rocket Raccoon, a tree-like humanoid named Groot, the enigmatic, expert fighter Gamora and the rough-edged warrior Drax the Destroyer. The series will premiere in 2015 on the Marvel Universe programming block on Disney XD. The series will feature the voice cast of Will Friedle as Peter Quill, AKA Star-Lord, David Sobolov as Drax the Destroyer, Kevin Michael Richardson as Groot, Trevor Devall as Rocket Raccoon, Vanessa Marshall as Gamora and James Arnold Taylor as both Yondu and Cosmo.
