Among the Marvel February 2016 solicitations is the continuation of Marvel’s recent wave of Hip Hop variants.

“For years, Marvel Comics and Hip-Hop culture have been engaged in an ongoing dialog,” said Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso earlier this year. “Beginning this October, we will shine a spotlight on the seamless relationship between those two unique forces in when we unveil the first of more than fifty variant covers, each of which pays tribute to an iconic album cover from the past 30 years that shaped pop-culture over the past three decades.”

The Marvel February 2016 solicitations also feature a series of variant covers designed by Michael Cho. There will be 20 Cho variants in all and you can see most of them in the gallery viewer below.

“Michael Cho’s stylized, graphic approach abstracts the Marvel heroes into Pop objects while still maintaining their individual personalities as characters,” said Marvel Senior Vice President, Executive Editor Tom Brevoort. “They’re vibrant and striking.”

There’s also more than a few books in the Marvel February 2016 solicitations designed to help build excitement for upcoming Marvel films like 20th Century’s Fox‘s take on the Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming “Phase Three” launcher, Captain America: Civil War. Look for the former to hit theaters February 12 with the latter following on May 6.
