Ezra Miller (We Need to Talk About Kevin, The Perks of Being a Wallflower) will play Barry Allen, aka The Flash, following his recent cameo appearance in this year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Miller’s version of the Flash is also set to appear in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Justice League Part One alongside a full roster of iconic DC heroes, including Ben Affleck’s Batman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher’s Cyborg, Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and Henry Cavill’s Superman. Willem Dafoe is also attached in a mystery role while the film is expected to also feature appearances by Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. Making their big screen DC Universe debuts are Amber Heard as Mera and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon.

Rick Famuyiwa, who also scripted Dope, most recently directed HBO‘s historical drama, Confirmation. Starring Kerry Washington, Wendell Pierce, and Greg Kinnear, Confirmation tells the true story of Anita Hill’s sexual harassment case against then-U.S. Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas.
The Flash boasts an original treatment by The LEGO Movie directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. Look for it to hit theaters March 16, 2018. Justice League will hit first, however, targeting a November 17, 2017 debut.
