Marvel’s Luke Cage Teaser Trailer, The Defenders Teaser and More!

Straight from the Marvel Television Panel at San Diego Comic-Con comes a cavalcade of updates on their Netflix original series, first up with the Marvel’s Luke Cage teaser trailer. Check it out below!

After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city–forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.

Mike Colter leads a cast that also includes Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Frank Whaley as Rafael Scarfe, Mahershala Ali as Cottonmouth, Theo Rossi as Shades, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard, and the return of Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple.

Cheo Hodari Coker (Notorious, “NCIS: Los Angeles”) will serve as executive producer and showrunner of the anticipated series, Marvel’s Luke Cage. Coker is writing the first two episodes of the series that will premiere everywhere that Netflix is available on September 30.

Next came the reveal that Marvel’s Daredevil has officially been renewed for a third season by Netflix, though no official premiere date was announced. Marvel’s Daredevil stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock (who moonlights as The Man Without Fear), Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Scott Glenn as Stick, with Elodie Yung as Elektra Natchios.and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple.

In addition, the first teaser trailer and poster for Marvel’s Iron Fist were revealed with confirmation that the series will debut on the streaming service in 2017. Marvel’s Iron Fist follows Danny Rand (Finn Jones), who returns to New York City after being missing for years. He fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist. The cast also includes Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, David Wenham as Harold Meachum, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum, and Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum.

Finally, there’s the teaser for the culmination of the Marvel and Netflix shows with The Defenders, bringing all four of the heroes together in one place. Douglas Petrie (Marvel’s Daredevil, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Marco Ramirez (Marvel’s Daredevil, Orange Is the New Black) will serve as showrunners for Marvel’s The Defenders, which will also debut in 2017.
