Though he was featured in a giant sequence of Captain America: Civil War, Paul Rudd is hard at work in the sequel to his own Marvel Studios film with Ant-Man and the Wasp. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Rudd offered an update on the development of the project, saying:
“We’ve been coming up with the story, just turned in a treatment, but it’s so preliminary. We’ll see. We have an idea of what it might look like but it could change a lot from where we’re at now.”
Rudd has been working on the script for the film with Transformers writers Andrew Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari and Academy Award winner Adam McKay (The Big Short).
He also had high praise for the addition of Brie Larson to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where the Academy Award winner will play Captain Marvel on the big screen.
“I love that. Love Brie Larson. I think she’s incredible. I think we’ve very lucky to have Brie Larson in the fold.”
Ant-Man and the Wasp will feature the return of Paul Rudd as Scott Lang alongside Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, with Michael Douglas also expected to reprise the role of Hank Pym in the film. Ant-Man and the Wasp is set for release on July 6, 2018. Its predecessor previously grossed over $519 million at the global box office.
