Tom Holland Talks Spider-Man Sequel and Future Avengers Appearance

Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures‘ Spider-Man: Homecoming recently finished filming, but star Tom Holland is already talking about a possible Spider-Man sequel.

“My next project, I can’t tell you about, but we’ve just finished ‘Spider-Man’ and we’re talking about the second one and who the villain is going to be and where we’re going,” Holland told WWD.

Holland was first introduced as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War and told Variety he could pop up in the upcoming Avengers movies as well.

“It’s all up in the air,” said Holland. “I believe some sort of deal is in the mix, but I’m unclear as to what that deal is.”

The actor added that, while the Spider-Man: Homecoming suits were not very comfortable, he did get to perform many stunts himself.

“I did as many [of the stunts] as I could, but there are some things legally that I couldn’t do,” Holland said. “There were stunt doubles who were all very, very talented guys who really supported me throughout the process. Whenever there was a stunt that I didn’t necessarily feel comfortable about, they would step in and show my how to do it, and coach me through the process.”

Tom Holland reprises the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man he first played in Captain America: Civil War, and is joined by Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan,, Michael Keaton as the Vulture, Logan Marshall-Green as a secondary villain, Kenneth Choi as Peter’s high school Principal, and Zendaya as a character by the name of Michelle (rumored to be Mary Jane Watson).

Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Homecoming also stars Donald Glover, Martin Starr, Michael Barbieri, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Angourie Rice, Jacob Batalon, Tyne Daly, and Bokeem Woodbine.

In the film, a young Peter Parker/Spider-Man begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging superhero.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will swing into theaters on July 7, 2017.
