New Blade Runner 2049 Photos Show Off Meticulous Sets

Warner Bros. Pictures released new photos (via EW) from the long-awaited sequel Blade Runner 2049 showing off the expansive and supremely-cool sets for the film. They also spoke to director Denis Villeneuve, who had nothing but praise for Ryan Gosling’s performance in the film.

“Ryan was my muse,” Villeneuve tells the outlet. “He has the movie on his shoulders. He’s in almost every single frame. To see his smile in the morning — and when Ryan Gosling smiles, the camera melts — and his goodwill and strength just meant the world to me. I owe him a lot. This movie owes him a lot.”

Gosling, on the other hand, remains skepticle that the film even happened, saying: “I still can’t believe it happened. I’m still not sure I’m not on some incredibly elaborate episode of Punk’d.”

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

The film also stars Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James, with Dave Bautista, Edward James Olmos and Jared Leto.
