Star Wars: The Last Jedi Reaches $844 Million Globally

Walt Disney Pictures and Lucasfilm‘s Star Wars: The Last Jedi grossed $28.3 million domestically and $24.2 million internationally on Tuesday, for a global total of $52.5 million for the day. That means the film has reached $424 million in North America, $420.2 million overseas, and a worldwide sum of $844.2 million.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi has now passed Wonder Woman ($412.6 million) domestically to become the #2 domestic release of 2017 to date, behind only Beauty and the Beast ($504 million).

Star Wars: The Last Jedi was written and directed by Rian Johnson (BrickLooper) and continues the storylines introduced in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, welcoming back cast members Mark Hamill, the late Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Lupita Nyong’o, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, and Andy Serkis. New cast members include Academy Award winner Benicio Del Toro, Academy Award nominee Laura Dern, and newcomer Kelly Marie Tran.
