Star Wars: The Last Jedi Box Office is Up to $934 Million

Walt Disney Pictures and Lucasfilm‘s Star Wars: The Last Jedi added $19.4 million domestically and $22.7 million internationally on Thursday, for a global day of $42.1 million. The film is now up to $464.6 million in North America, $469.6 million overseas, and $934.2 million worldwide.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi was written and directed by Rian Johnson (BrickLooper) and continues the storylines introduced in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, welcoming back cast members Mark Hamill, the late Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Lupita Nyong’o, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, and Andy Serkis. New cast members include Academy Award winner Benicio Del Toro, Academy Award nominee Laura Dern, and newcomer Kelly Marie Tran.

Columbia Pictures‘ Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle grossed $15 million on Thursday from 3,765 theaters, bringing the domestic total to $119.3 million. Directed by Jake Kasdan, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle stars Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas, and Bobby Cannavale. The film was made for about $90 million.
