Rebecca Ferguson Joins Cast of Men in Black Spin-Off

According to Deadline, Rebecca Ferguson will be joining Chris Hemsworth (Avengers: Infinity War) in the upcoming Men In Black spin-off movie. Ferguson can be seen now in Mission: Impossible Fallout and is also known for her roles in The Girl on the Train, and the Oscar-nominated musical The Greatest Showman.

The rest of the cast of the Men In Black spin-off are Tessa Thompson (Westworld, Thor:Ragnarok), Emma Thompson (Sense and Sensibility, Howards End), Liam Neeson (Taken series), Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon ValleyThe Big Sick) and Rafe Spall (The Big ShortLife of Pi).

The untitled Men in Black spinoff will not feature Will Smith or Tommy Lee Jones, but it will expand on the world of the original trilogy. This will be a different project from the aborted 21 Jump Street franchise mashup, MIB 23, which Jonah Hill admitted previously was “too complicated” in terms of the deals needed. That film remains in development, however.

The Men in Black spinoff film is set to be directed by F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta ComptonThe Fate of the Furious) and is been written by Matt Holloway & Art Marcum (Iron ManTransformers: The Last Knight). Original franchise producers Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are back along with executive producer Steven Spielberg. Production is underway on the film in London.

Look for the new Men in Black movie to arrive in theaters on June 14, 2019.
